A Note on Our Drawings Different types of drawings were used at different stages of the development of a G.I. Joe figure. Here's a list of the terms we use in our auctions: A Concept Drawing/ Sketch is the most primitive realization of a designer's imagination. It can be done with ink or pencil, on paper or vellum, with notes scribbled on the side to explain the designer's concept. Most of the figures on concept drawings never made it to the market. Once a concept is chosen and approved by the team, a tight Black and White Presentation Drawing will be made. Most of these drawings are mounted on a board for color study in the G.I. Joe team. An Exploded View Drawing, which literally shows the figure being exploded into individual parts, will also be made at the same time for engineering and costing studies. This drawing will show how many parts and joints the figure should have. When the colors are decided and the costing is approved, the designer will proceed to create a Color Presentation Drawing, along with Input Drawings showing the structure of the figure and its accessories so that sculptors and engineers of the team can turn the drawings into a 3-D product. These drawings are not in perfect condition because they were used by and passed around the GI Joe team for internal revisions. Few people ever thought about handling them with care because they were meant to be tools, not collectibles. A lot of the drawings created during the development of a figure ended up in the trash. This does not tarnish the artistic or market value of these drawings, however. They were not mass produced as merchandises, which makes it extremely precious for collectors because each of these drawings is unique and hand drawn, many with written notes by the original designer(s). **Attention All G.I. Joe Fans** We sell original drawings and production samples of the G.I. Joe Series. These items were used for internal reviews only and never released to the public. We got them from a former G.I. Joe designer who has worked on the series for ten years. All the drawings and samples are therefore authentic and irreplaceable. This is a rare opportunity for die-hard fans to acquire genuine G. I. Joe collectibles. Authenticity Guaranteed!!! On Aug-29-10 at 20:50:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Normie1602 Store
